Cyberport Management appoints new directors

Cyberpoint now has 9 non-government directors and 2 government directors on its board.

Two new non-government directors and four serving non-government directors have been appointed or reappointed to the Cyberport Management Company's board of directors.

The new directors are Peter Yan and Douglas So, appointed for two years from June 5. Mr Yan is the Executive Director of Computer & Technologies Holdings, and Chief Executive Officer of Global e-Business Services & Computer & Technologies Solutions.

Mr So is the Executive Director, Charities/General Counsel of the Jockey Club. He is experienced in legal matters and corporate governance.

The four reappointed directors are Anthony Au, Winnie Ng, Wong Sau-ying and George Hongchoy. Mr Au and Ms Ng are reappointed for a year while Ms Wong and Mr Hongchoy are reappointed for two years. Their tenure will also start on June 5.

With the new appointments and reappointments, there are nine non-government directors and two government directors on the board.

While the company welcomed the new directors, gratitude was also expressed to outgoing Rock Chen, Chia Kok-onn and Peter Liu, for their support and contribution to Cyberport during their tenures.

The company is one of the three private and wholly-owned companies set up under the Financial Secretary Incorporated to oversee the development, operation and management of the Cyberport project. The board of directors provides policy and strategic guidance to the company on its business development and oversees corporate performance and governance, according to a government report.

The board is chaired by Paul Chow and the full list of non-government directors is Anthony Au, Winnie Ng, Wong Sau-ying, Herman Hu, Lee Shing-see, George Hongchoy, Peter Yan and Douglas So.

Government directors are Permanent Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development (Communications & Technology) Elizabeth Tse, and Permanent Secretary for Financial Services & Treasury (Treasury) Stanley Ying.
