HK Express mainland passenger traffic rises 45% during Golden Week
Passenger traffic peaked at more than 13,000 on 2 October.
HK Express recorded 45% year on year (YoY) growth in mainland Chinese passenger traffic during National Day Golden Week, underpinned by strong demand for Beijing and Wuxi routes.
The number of mainland passengers travelling to and from Hong Kong peaked at more than 13,000 on 2 October, HK Express said.
HK Express said its six Chinese mainland routes performed well, with the Wuxi route recording an average load factor of 85% between its launch in July and 7 October.
The Beijing route’s average load factor reached 87% between 1 January and 7 October, up 6% YoY, whilst passenger traffic rose 14% YoY, driven by sustained demand for air travel between Hong Kong and Beijing.
Mainland passenger traffic connecting through Hong Kong to other Asian destinations on HK Express flights also rose by more than 160% YoY, HK Express said.
