Gov’t appoints new transport and culture secretaries

Chief Executive John Lee appointed Mable Chan as the Secretary for Transport and Logistics and Rosanna Law as the Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Lee also announced the removal of Kevin Yeung from the post of Secretary for Culture, Sports & Tourism, and Lam Sai-hung from the post of Secretary for Transport and Logistics.

He said the decision was made through a period of observation, judging what he wanted to do in the years to come and assessing what would make his governance even more effective.

On the appointment of Chan and Law, the Chief Executive said the two are seasoned administrative officers and have had a distinguished performance for the past 35 years, possessing proven administrative, leadership, and explanatory skills.

“I appreciate the leadership, the articulation skills, and also the proactiveness of Mable Chan and Rosanna Law because these are exactly what I need in the years to come to ensure that we will reap the best results and also to ensure good governance," Lee said.
