Hong Kong gov't hospital advances Chinese medicine in new deals with Mainland hospitals
CMHHK expands cooperation on research, training and clinical exchange with mainland hospitals.
The Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong (CMHHK) has signed strategic collaboration agreements with two mainland hospitals to strengthen cooperation in education, research and clinical services.
The agreements were signed with the Shenzhen Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital (SZTCMH) and the Hebei Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine (HBHCM), with Hong Kong Secretary for Health Professor Lo Chung-mau witnessing both signings.
“The agreements laid a foundation and set the direction for collaboration between CMHHK and the two Chinese medicine hospitals in Shenzhen and Hebei,” the parties said.
Professor Lo said the partnerships support national goals under the 15th Five-Year Plan, including stronger integration into national development and the development of traditional Chinese medicine.
“Hong Kong will continue to use the strengths of ‘one country, two systems’ to promote cooperation with the Chinese Mainland in healthcare,” he said.
He added that Hong Kong aims to act as a bridge for Chinese medicine development and international exchange.
The agreements cover talent exchange, cross-border case discussions, drug interaction alert systems, academic conferences, research networks, and training and education programmes.
CMHHK has also signed similar agreements with hospitals in Guangdong, Beijing, Tianjin, Jiangsu, Shandong, Sichuan, Macao, as well as institutions in Germany and Australia.
