HK inks health emergencies pact with Mainland China, Macau
Under the cooperation, the three places will communicate about infectious diseases.
Hong Kong, mainland China, and Macau authorities inked a “Cooperation Agreement on Response Mechanism for Public Health Emergencies caused by Infectious Disease”.
Under the cooperation, the three economies will be sharing information regarding infectious diseases and mass infection, coordinate emergency response efforts, and cooperate in technical issues, training, and research on public health emergency responses.
Secretary for Health Lo Chung-mau met the Administrator of the National Disease Control & Prevention Administration Wang Hesheng and the Secretary for Social Affairs & Culture of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government Ao Ieong U in Hong Kong to sign the agreement.
“The agreement will further step up the joint prevention and control efforts against infectious diseases among the Mainland, Hong Kong and Macau, thereby advancing the country’s important strategy of ‘Healthy China’ through concerted efforts,” said Lo.
