Deliveroo pilots in-app feature allowing users to donate

The feature will allow customers to roundup their bills and make financial donations.

Deliveroo is introducing a new in-app feature to enable customers to round up their total bills and send a donation to a selected local NGO, a press release confirmed. Feeding Hong Kong will be the first NGO partner to receive these donations.

These donations will be received under ‘Food Matters’, Feeding HK’s virtual food drive. Deliveroo customers will be presented an option to round up their bills at the ‘checkout’ or they will be offered pre-selected amounts to donate to the NGO. Deliveroo targets to raise over $1m in donation by the end of December, the press release added.

Feeding HK is the sole accredited member of the Global FoodBanking Network who collects surplus stock from food companies, sorts and stores it, and then redistributes it to multiple charities across the city.
