Hong Kong, Malaysian chambers ink MoU to boost cross-border trade
HKGCC and NCCIM to share market intelligence and promote investment opportunities.
The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC) and the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia have partnered to strengthen Hong Kong-Malaysia trade and economic ties.
Through a memorandum of understanding (MoU), the two chambers will exchange market intelligence, promote investment opportunities, organise joint commercial programmes, and conduct reciprocal visits.
The MoU was signed in Kuala Lumpur during a Hong Kong business delegation led by Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Algernon Yau.
The delegation was held alongside the “Think Business, Think Hong Kong” Symposium.
Separately, a Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office has launched in Kuala Lumpur, covering Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Laos, and Pakistan.
Patrick Yeung, CEO of HKGCC, said Malaysia remains a vital economic partner for the city.
“We are actively unlocking new avenues for our members to explore cross-border investment, share critical market intelligence, and build lasting business relationships,” Yeung added.
The cooperation will draw on the chambers’ respective business networks to support cross-border trade and investment and identify new opportunities for their members.
