GTN expands APAC footprint with new Hong Kong hub after SFC licence win
This is also its sixt licenced subsidiary globally.
Global fintech GTN Group Holding Ltd (GTN) has established Hong Kong as its second regulated hub in APAC and its sixth licenced subsidiary globally after obtaining a Type 1 licence from the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), according to a company statement dated 24 March.
The licence adds to GTN’s existing regulated operations in the UK, US, Singapore, the UAE, and South Africa. The company said it will set up a dedicated local team in Hong Kong to support its operations in the region.
GTN said the licence strengthens its ability to connect global firms to capital flows between China and international markets and to facilitate customer order flows from Greater China into global markets.
“Securing a regulatory licence and establishing a dedicated team in Hong Kong reflects GTN’s continued commitment to the Greater China region,” said Manjula Jayasinghe, co-founder and group chief executive officer of GTN.
