Justice Department sets up 13-member go-global advisory committee
Committee draws Mainland, Hong Kong experts to aid overseas expansion.
The Department of Justice has established an “Expert Committee on Professional Services for Going Global,” an advisory body under the department on legal and other professional services, to support Chinese Mainland enterprises seeking to “go global.”
With a two-year term, the 13-member committee will be chaired by Deputy Secretary for Justice Cheung Kwok-kwan.
Its members come from the legal, financial, and accounting sectors, as well as from business and corporate circles, and are drawn from both the Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong.
The committee will provide advice and assistance to better meet the needs of Chinese Mainland enterprises expanding overseas.
It will also coordinate with the region's professional services sectors, including legal, accounting, and financial services, to support these efforts.
Kwok-kwan highlighted that the Hong Kong Professional Services GoGlobal Platform, launched on 13 December with the support of the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau, marks a new phase of collaborative support for Mainland enterprises going global.
The expert committee will support and promote the work of the platform by gathering strategic advice from its members.
