Pacific Andes’ operations unaffected by Japan radiation leakage

The group has not sourced any materials and products from Japan in the past three months.

Pacific Andes International Holdings Limited (“Pacific Andes”) is aware of the public concerns with regards to any possible impact of the nuclear radiation leakage in Japan on the Group’s business, and would like make the following statement:

As of Monday, no sign of radioactive contamination has been detected in the Group’s products. The Group would also like to highlight that it does not carry out any fishing operations in or near Japan’s waters. It also has not directly or indirectly sourced or imported any raw materials, fishery products, packaging materials or machinery from Japan in the past three months and has no plans to do so in the immediate future. In addition, sales to the Japanese market have not been affected, according to a Pacific Andes report.

The Group has been constantly monitoring the radiation level of sea water, fishing nets and fish harvested on board of its vessels since the radiation leakage in Japan began. As part of the Group’s standard import surveillance procedures, it will also continue to work closely with the relevant authorities to carry out extensive testing of products and raw materials to ensure that all its products meet the Group’s stringent safety and quality standards.

The Group pledges to continue providing safe and healthy seafood products to all of its customers and consumers, and it will strive to ensure transparency and traceability from the ocean to the plate.
