Hutchison Telecom swings higher as interim 2026 profit rises 83%

The company declared an interim dividend of $0.0228 per share.

Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings reported an 83% year-on-year (YoY) improvement in profit attributable to shareholders to $11m in its 2026 interim results, as higher roaming revenue and lower operating expenses lifted its results.

Earnings before interest and tax rose 6% to $18m, whilst net customer service revenue increased 6% to $1.87b.

Total revenue rose 32% YoY to $2.85b, following the disposal of the group’s Macau business earlier this year.

The company said its operations had stabilised after the transaction.

Roaming service revenue was a key contributor, rising 25% to $477m.

Local service revenue remained stable, according to the company.

Operating expenses fell 8% to $594m, reflecting lower costs as the company maintained tighter spending controls.

The company’s total customer base exceeded 3.2 million, with 5G subscribers accounting for 64% of the base.

Its 5G home broadband customer base increased 3% YoY.

The corporate business continued to expand, with revenue from the segment rising 43% YoY.

The company declared an interim dividend of $0.0228 per share.
