Total port cargo throughput rose 10%

Port cargo throughput increased to 267.8 million tonnes as inward and outward port cargo rose 11% and 10% respectively.

According to Hong Kong Information Services Department, the Census & Statistics Department said that inward port cargo rose to 154.3 million tonnes and outward port cargo rose to 113.6 million tonnes.

Up to 23.7 million containers were handled by the port last year. This is an increase of 13% from 2009.
