Venture Energy completes Hong Kong's largest green methanol bunkering
It supplied 1000 tonnes of green methanol to a RoRo vessel.
Venture Energy Limited arranged the supply of 1,000 tonnes of green methanol to a roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) vessel CM Shenzhen in partnership with Sinopec (Hong Kong) Limited, marking Hong Kong's largest single green methanol bunkering operation to date.
The company said in a statement on 9 July that the operation used green methanol from Shanghai Shenji Energy & Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Shenergy Group.
The bunkering vessel Da Qing 268, managed by Wah Kwong Ship Management, transferred the fuel to the vessel owned by China Merchants Guangzhou RoRo Shipping Co., Ltd.
The company said the operation highlighted its ability to source green methanol from suppliers across North and East China to help bridge growing demand in the Greater Bay Area.
“The successful operation further strengthens Hong Kong's position as an international maritime centre and an emerging green fuel bunkering hub,” Venture Energy said.
The company said it will continue working with partners across the green fuel value chain to support future bunkering operations.
