
SML Group reports ESG progress towards net-zero emission by 2050
With over 92% waste no longer landfilled and 57.7% pioneer products features sustainable.
SML Group, a digital identification solution company, announced that 57.7% of their “sustainable products” under their pioneer brands now consist of sustainable elements.
Over 83.1% of its suppliers now comply with environmental, social, and governance(ESG) standards, taking it a step closer to its 2050 net-zero emission target, SML’s latest ESG report said.
A total of 92.7% of waste was diverted from landfill. Amongst measures adopted include reuse 1,200 kg of sticker liners per month.
In terms of governance, SML Group’s total recordable incident rate is 0.3, below the industry average of 2.8, with zero fatalities.
More than 41,700 hours of employee training were provided by the group in 2024. Male and female ratio of the group's employees increased to 55:45.
To promote digitalisation and innovation, SML established three new production bases in 2024 and cooperated with Landmark Group to deploy Radio-Frequency Identification in the Middle East.
In 2025, the ESG strategic plan certified by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) will continue to be implemented, including 90% of sustainable products in supply, 95% of waste diversion and supplier ESG compliance.
