Japan’s Kaneko Optical opens first directly managed store in Hong Kong

It offers handcrafted eyewear produced at the brand's factories in Japan.

Japanese eyewear brand Kaneko Optical opened its first directly managed store in Hong Kong last 30 November, according to Invest Hong Kong. 

Kaneko Optical offers handcrafted eyewear produced at the brand's factories in Japan, along with optical services.  

Founded in 1958 as an eyeglass wholesaler, the company has gained recognition in Japan and actively collaborates with major collections and apparel manufacturers to create original brands.

"We already have several wholesalers in Hong Kong who sell our glasses and we want to maximise this to enhance our brand image in the city and offer better service to local customers," Toru Akita, global strategy officer of Kaneko Optical, said.
