AEON Stores opens AEON MaxValu Prime

The supermarket targets customers seeking quality living and trendy lifestyle as it offers the best and most comprehensive food, fresh products, and goods from different countries.

AEON Stores (Hong Kong) Co., Limited (“AEON Stores”) and Chinese Estates Holdings Limited (“Chinese Estates”) on Tuesday held a signing ceremony to mark the opening of AEON MaxValu Prime Tsim Sha Tsui Store, the Group’s first premium supermarket in Hong Kong. Found in The ONE shopping mall, which is managed by Chinese Estates, the new central Tsim Sha Tsui located store is scheduled to commence trial operation on 18 June with a grand opening on 28 June 2011.

Mr. Lam Man Tin, Managing Director of AEON Stores, and Mr. Ming Wai Lau, Vice Chairman of Chinese Estates, presided over the ceremony on Tuesday and signed a contract on behalf of their respective companies, according to an AEON Stores report.

Mr. Lam Man Tin, Managing Director of AEON Stores, said, “Steady growth in the local economy, coupled with an improving job market and rising disposable income, has enabled more Hong Kong people to pursue a comfortable and trendy lifestyle. AEON MaxValu Prime, a premium supermarket, is set to address their needs. We are delighted that we have been able to find a prime location at The ONE in Tsim Sha Tsui for opening the first store. We will certainly work closely with Chinese Estates and offer an innovative and unique shopping experience to more local consumers.”

Mr. Ming Wai Lau, Vice Chairman of Chinese Estates, said, “We warmly welcome AEON MaxValu Prime, the first premium supermarket from AEON Stores, to The ONE. While representing the first premium supermarket in the shopping mall, its target customers with a taste for quality living and high spending power, perfectly fits with our ‘one-stop’ concept of integrating shopping, leisure and entertainment within the mall. We believe that with AEON MaxValu Prime joining us, The ONE will further enhance its position as the only shopping hotspot that combines youthfulness, modernity and stylishness in Tsim Sha Tsui.”

Occupying an area of approximately 28,000 sq. ft., the soon-to-open AEON MaxValu Prime Tsim Sha Tsui Store targets customers seeking quality living and a trendy lifestyle. The new store carries the best and most comprehensive food, fresh products, stylish merchandise and household goods from different countries. There are dedicated counters for selling premium grade meats, sushi provided by Nakajima Suisan, Italian ham, fine wines, international cuisine, as well as sections featuring stylish lifestyle products. The new store also introduces many licensed franchisees, including Okinawa Route 58, an Okinawa products specialty shop; Star Chefs Selection, the abalone expert; and AMIKO Gelato, an Italian ice-cream shop, which will all make their debut in Hong Kong. In addition, The Cocoa Trees, an internationally renowned popular chocolate brand; Tutti Frutti, the world’s largest yogurt chain store; and Kings Pastry, a German cake shop offering homemade flavours, will be present as well. All of these shops offer delightful choices for customers.

Tsim Sha Tsui, where The ONE is located, is one of the most prosperous commercial and tourist districts in Hong Kong, and is surrounded by densely populated residential and commercial districts such as Mongkok and Yau Ma Tei. With many large shopping malls and hotels, the region attracts local consumers with high spending power and a large number of tourists from overseas and Mainland China, presenting attractive business opportunities and strong development potential for the retail industry.
