Galaxy Entertainment Group clinches win at Hong Kong Business Management Excellence Awards 2026
HR strategies have played a pivotal role in driving organisational resilience and adapting to industry changes.
Global integrated resort operator Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) brought home the Team of the Year - Hospitality & Leisure at the distinguished Hong Kong Business Management Excellence Awards 2026 for the success of its Training & Development (T&D) team in executing a comprehensive people readiness plan amidst major industry changes.
As a leading integrated tourism and leisure enterprise in Macau, GEG actively fosters diverse career opportunities whilst encouraging cross-functional growth. The company delivers extensive orientation and service philosophy training for all newly joined team members, ensuring they are well-prepared to deliver exceptional guest experiences. This commitment has enabled seamless project launches and contributed to major accolades, including being recognised as the integrated resort with the most Forbes Five‑Star hotels under one roof worldwide.
At the same time, GEG has delivered the Change Mindset programme to over 9,000 gaming-related team members, designed to foster adaptability and readiness for workplace transitions. With detailed planning and collaboration, the initiative provided nearly a quarter of a million training hours whilst operations continued seamlessly. Customer experience and business sustained high standards throughout the transition.
To build long-term organisational agility, GEG has established a career mobility framework that facilitated over 10,000 internal movements through the years, creating a dynamic and fluid talent pipeline. Leadership excellence has been elevated by the multi‑stage People Culture Programme. With half of all internal promotions stepping into managerial roles, this initiative has empowered new leaders with the skills and confidence to thrive, ensuring that the GEG team members continue to drive success and innovation across the business and contribute to Macau’s long-term prosperity and position as a ‘World Centre of Tourism and Leisure’.
In response to immense training demand, GEG has also built a robust, decentralised training ecosystem. This network leverages more than 1,000 certified trainers and mentors, supported by a strong governance and partnership framework, ensuring consistency and excellence across all programmes.
These initiatives come amidst major shifts in the industry, including Macau’s ‘1+4’ diversification strategy, evolving customer expectations, and rapid technological upgrades. Overall, the team delivered over 1.3 million training hours in 2025, directly contributing to GEG’s international accolades and setting a new organisational benchmark.
The GEG T&D team has emerged as a strategic architect of the company's success during its most transformative period. By supporting the human capital strategy for a historic expansion, the team has built an agile workforce capable of meeting new challenges and created a sustainable ecosystem that drives award-winning excellence. These efforts have positioned the T&D function as a strategic pillar in advancing the business forward.
