Housing Bureau awards $209m contracts for light public housing

Chevalier Property Management Ltd and Sik Yuen Joint Venture won the first contract.

The Housing Bureau has awarded two contracts worth about $86m and $123m to manage upcoming light public housing (LPH) projects.

Chevalier Property Management Ltd and Sik Yuen Joint Venture won the first contract, covering four school sites to be converted into housing.

Two sites at Shun On Road and Choi Yuen Road, offering 240 units in total, are due for completion later this year.

Another two sites at Shun Lee Tsuen Road and Chuk Yuen Road, with 215 units, are expected in early 2027.

The second contract covers the Sheung On Street project in Chai Wan, which will provide about 1,720 units. It is scheduled for completion in mid-2026 and will be the only LPH project on Hong Kong Island.

Housing Secretary Winnie Ho said assigning the four school conversions to a single operator would improve efficiency.

She added that the Chai Wan project is expected to bring quality property management and social services to residents and the surrounding community.

Unlike general property management contracts, LPH management also includes social services and the operation of community facilities.
