HK launches GoGlobal Task Force to help Mainland enterprises expand overseas
Initiatives will include market visits and outreach programs.
Hong Kong has launched the GoGlobal Task Force, a one-stop platform designed to help Mainland enterprises expand their businesses internationally through the city.
The initiative, proposed in the 2025 Policy Address, brings together Hong Kong’s overseas offices, including Invest Hong Kong, the Trade Development Council, and Mainland offices, to coordinate support for enterprises going global.
Financial Secretary Paul Chan said global expansion, especially into the Global South, is crucial for Mainland enterprises. He said the GoGlobal Task Force provides high-level coordination, pools resources, and engages proactively to support overseas growth.
The task force will work with government departments, professional bodies, chambers of commerce, and business organisations to remove barriers and provide timely assistance.
Initiatives will include market visits, outreach programs, and other activities to help enterprises leverage Hong Kong as a global business hub.
Commerce & Economic Development Secretary Algernon Yau, who will lead the task force, said it combines cross-bureau, cross-department, and cross-sectoral resources to offer unprecedented support.
The task force aims to help Mainland enterprises expand internationally in an orderly manner while boosting Hong Kong’s economy and reinforcing its role as an international trade and business hub.
Over 100 representatives from partner organisations, including legal, accounting, financial services, and professional associations, attended the launch.
The task force will finalise its strategy by the end of the year and hold its first promotional event. InvestHK will coordinate its efforts.
