HKEX board names Carlson Tong as new chairman

His appointment is subject to CE Lee’s approval.

The Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) board has appointed Carlson Tong as its new chairman.

Tong’s appointment is still subject to the written approval of Chief Executive John Lee.

Tong is also chairman of the corporate social responsibility, nomination and governance, and remuneration committees.

At its annual general meeting (AGM), HKEX also re-elected Nicholas Allen, Anna Cheung and Zhang Yichen as directors.

Allen is part of the audit and risk committees, serving as chairman and member, respectively. Cheung is a member of the audit, board executive, corporate social responsibility, and remuneration committees.

Meanwhile, Yichen holds membership in the corporate social responsibility, investment, and nomination and governance committees.
