Chemical unit of Yip’s Chemical among top 20 global ink companies

Bauhinia Variegata Ink is the first Chinese ink company to be chosen among international leaders.

Yip’s Chemical Holdings Limited (“Yip’s Chemical”), the world’s largest manufacturer of acetate solvents and one of China’s largest manufacturers of petrochemical products, announced that its subsidiary, Yip's Ink and Chemicals Co., Ltd. (“Bauhinia Variegata Ink”), has been selected 14th place in “The Top International Ink Companies 2011”. Compiled by Ink World, an authoritative US magazine, this acknowledgment marks the first time that a Chinese ink company was included among top 20 within such a global industry ranking. The selection was achieved on the strength of its sales of US$164 million and its top industry position in China. The relatively high ranking demonstrates strong growth momentum of Chinese ink companies.

Mr Stephen Yip, Deputy Chairman of Yip’s Chemical, said, “We are very delighted to see that our subsidiary, Bauhinia Variegata Ink, representing ink companies in China, has been selected as one of the global ink industry leaders. This recognition is the result of Bauhinia Variegata Ink’s years of efforts in focusing on the China market and dedication to innovation. Looking ahead, Yip’s Chemical continues to support the development of Bauhinia Variegata Ink by investing resources in its technology, talent and management, with the aim to drive the growth our Chinese ink brand.”

“Top International Ink Companies” is annually compiled by Ink World, an authoritative U.S. magazine, based on the corporate information of almost all important ink companies throughout the globe. According to the analysis by Ink World, while global ink companies were adversely affected by the global economy and fluctuating raw material prices in 2010, most of them managed to respond flexibly to the market conditions to ensure gradual recovery of their business. The performance of ink companies in the Asia Pacific region was particularly outstanding as they benefited from robust market demand in the region. Bauhinia Variegata Ink is the first Chinese ink company to break into the ranking, shattering the monopoly of Japanese companies among Asian enterprises, according to a Yip's Chemical report.

Bauhinia Variegata Ink has three production plants in Zhongshan, Guangdong, Tungxiang, Zhejiang, and Cangzhou, Hebei with products covering Southern, Eastern and Northern China, respectively. Bauhinia Variegata Ink ranked the first in the ink industry in China in terms of production capacity and sales in 2010.
