Nanyin concert 'The Storytellers' gears up for stage

It will be a three-part concert.

According to a government release, the Leisure & Cultural Services Department will present three nanyin concerts entitled The Storytellers, as part of its Revival of Traditional Culture Yau Ma Tei Theatre Series.

Four Hong Kong and Guangdong nanyin artists will collaborate with a group of Chinese music performers for the concerts, to be held at 8pm from December 31 to January 2 at Yau Ma Tei Theatre.

The nanyin artists are Guangdong singers Chen Liying and Liu Zhiguang, and local singers Tong Kin-woon and Tong Siu-yin, who will together perform a selection of nanyin classics.

Tickets are $180 and $120 at URBTIX.

Pre-performance talks will be conducted in Cantonese at 7.30pm on December 16 and 29 at the Cultural Centre. Admission is free.
