Hong Kong honors famous son, Bruce Lee

Multimedia exhibition to immortalize Lee.

Hong Kong celebrates the life and meteoric career of its most famous martial arts star, the late, great Bruce Lee. Forty years after his untimely death, Lee will be honored by the Hong Kong Heritage Museum with a multimedia exhibition featuring over 600 Bruce Lee-related artifacts. The exhibit will be launched on July 20.

The government has announced it will celebrate Bruce Lee as the pride of Hong Kong in an exhibition called, "Bruce Lee: Kung Fu 'Art' Life." Memorabilia and artifacts at the exhibition will include those from the city's film archive and the Bruce Lee Foundation.

Almost 100 items on display relate to Lee's popular 1960s U.S. TV series, "The Green Hornet," where he co-starred as Kato, the Kung Fu ass-kicking sidekick of the Green Hornet.

The Hong Kong filmmakers association has also created a 75-minute documentary on Bruce Lee's life to be shown at the exhibition. The film is a thorough depiction of the life of the legendary star, who remains Hong Kong's greatest movie legend to this day.

The organizers plan to employ new innovative and interactive media including a dedicated website, various Smartphone apps and social media to promote the exhibition. The LCSD will also launch a Facebook fan page.
