“Hong Kong Day” opens tomorrow in Los Angeles

Celebration promotes HK as a movie production center.

The American Film Market and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council will jointly present "Hong Kong Day" at the American Film Market in Los Angeles, California. Hong Kong Day will feature a day-long series of events on Nov. 7 spotlighting the benefits of co-producing in Hong Kong.

"Hong Kong Day" will highlight Hong Kong as Asia's co-production center, focusing on what the international film community can gain by partnering with Hong Kong companies. Its activities will include a seminar on co-producing in Hong Kong and the China market. Premiere film screenings by Hong Kong companies will also be held.

"Hong Kong is Asia's co-production hub, thanks to its free-trade agreement with mainland China; its excellent services sector and its renowned film industry," said AFM Managing Director Jonathan Wolf.

HKTDC hopes that through Hong Kong Day, overseas film professionals at AFM will discover Hong Kong's advantages for exploring Asian markets, particularly co-production opportunities with the Chinese mainland.
