Manulife Asia-Ant Health MOU to streamline cross-border healthcare
The companies will also explore insurance technology, claims, and payment support.
Manulife Financial Asia Limited (Manulife Asia) and AHA Healthcare Technology HK Limited (Ant Health) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to explore collaboration in healthcare services and technology.
The MOU covers potential collaboration in health management services, cross-boundary healthcare support, digital health capabilities, and insurance technology.
This includes health value-added services, design support, and claims and payment support.
The companies said the framework aims to address fragmented cross-boundary healthcare experiences, where customers may need to make multiple enquiries and manually coordinate different steps before, during, and after treatment.
Under the MOU, Manulife Asia and Ant Health will explore health management services for Manulife customers in Hong Kong and Mainland China.
This includes case management and concierge support, medical networks, and patient services.
Other potential areas of collaboration include health insights, industry research, and standards, subject to mutual agreement.
The MOU has a regional scope, with Hong Kong and Mainland China identified as the first markets for exploration.
The companies intend to explore extending the collaboration to customers in other Asian markets over time.
