Hong Kong allocates $65m for workforce development
Schools are also launching new programmes for aviation and finance.
Hong Kong is allocating $65m in funding for workforce development in construction, aviation, and finance, Financial Secretary Paul Chan said during the 2026-27 Budget.
The funds will be used to support training places for construction graduates, Chan said.
In aviation, the Hong Kong International Aviation Academy and the Chinese University of Hong Kong will launch a Master of Science in Aviation Management.
The Aircraft Engineering Training Centre, established with an overseas aeronautic services company, will provide instruction in aircraft maintenance, parts processing, and certification.
In finance, the Financial Leaders Programme through the Hong Kong Academy of Finance will engage 80 senior executives from 50 institutions.
The GBA Fintech Two‑way Internship Scheme for Post‑secondary Students offers subsidies for fintech internships, involving 30 enterprises and 100 students from Hong Kong and the Mainland.
Additionally, the Programme to Enhance Talent Training for the Insurance Sector will be extended for three more years.
