Gov’t unveils blueprint to boost arts and culture sector

The blueprint consists of 71 measures under four strategic directions.

The government introduced a blueprint focusing on the development of the arts, culture, and creative industries.

The Blueprint for Arts, Culture & Creative Industries Development outlines 71 measures across four strategic directions.

These directions include promoting traditional Chinese culture, developing arts and culture industries with an international perspective; establishing international platforms for East-meets-West arts and cultural exchanges; and strengthening industry ecosystems.

The blueprint is supported by the Hong Kong Arts Centre (HKAC),  implementing various measures aligned with the blueprint including the "Collect Hong Kong" event during Art Month next year, as well as offering children’s art programmes.

“With over 18 years of rich experience in public art activities, we look forward to collaborating with the SAR Government and various parties to inspire more creativity, promote cultural exchange, and provide richer artistic experiences for the public,” Peter Lau, Chairman of the Board of Governors at HKAC said.
