The report also found that 78% were unfamiliar with medication efficacy.

Eight in 10 vitiligo patients in Hong Kong have limited understanding of available therapies and their efficacy, according to a Hong Kong Vitiligo Support Group survey.

The report also found that 78% were unfamiliar with medication efficacy, whilst 84% were uncertain about which specialist to consult.

Despite this, 74% of patients hoped therapy could partially or fully restore their original skin pigmentation.

However, 67% perceived treatments as completely ineffective. Amongst the 48 treated patients, none achieved complete repigmentation, and only 8% reported partial improvement.
