Unemployment rate stands at 3%

There were 117,800 unemployed people between May and July.

The jobless rate for the May to July period stood at 3%, unchanged from the April to June record.

Data from the Census & Statistics Department (C&SD) showed that the total number of unemployed people between May and July was  117,800,  3,100 more than the preceding period.

From May to July, the underemployment rate was also unchanged at 1.2%. 

Meanwhile, total employment increased by 5,300 to 3,708,600, and the labour force grew by 8,400 to 3,826,400.
