Hong Kong pledges to drive APEC and ABAC goals

CE Lee said HK is eager to collaborate with ABAC firms.

Chief Executive (CE) John Lee underscored Hong Kong and China’s commitment to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) at the 2024 ABAC Meeting in Hong Kong.

CE Lee discussed Hong Kong’s growth strategy focused on innovation, inclusivity, and sustainability with the delegates.

Lee also expressed his eagerness to collaborate with the ABAC business community to promote regional growth.

Financial Secretary Paul Chan also noted that Hong Kong could collaborate further with ABAC to enhance international free trade, address supply chain and logistics issues, accelerate regional green transition, and boost the digital economy's growth.

“Hong Kong, China, is a proud contributor to the region’s economic development. We are committed to communicating and cooperating with other member economies to advance the APEC and ABAC agenda, for the benefit of the businesses and people in the region,” Financial Secretary Paul Chan said.

The ABAC Meeting gathered over 200 ABAC members from APEC’s 21 member countries to discuss trade and investment opportunities, digital transformation, and sustainability and inclusion under the theme “People, Business, Prosperity.”
