Exports and imports rise in May 2025

Vietnam led import volume growth, whilst Taiwan led export volume growth.

 

Hong Kong's total exports and imports increased by 13.4% and 16.5% YoY in May, respectively.

 

The Census and Statistics Department reported that increases were recorded for the total export volume to Taiwan (48%), Vietnam (39.5%), India (37.6%), and the mainland of China (15.9%) YoY. 

 

On the other hand, the total export volume to the US decreased by 20.7%.

 

In terms of import volume, increases were recorded from Vietnam (70.1%), Taiwan (29.6%), mainland China (17.1%), and Singapore (12.3%) YoY. Import volume from Korea decreased by 10.5%.
