Gov’t approves 14 building plans in May

The approved plans are for residential, industrial, commercial, and community service developments.

The government approved 14 building plans in May: five in Hong Kong Island, two in Kowloon, and seven in the New Territories.

Of the approved plans, nine were for apartment and apartment-commercial developments, one for factory and industrial developments, and four for community services developments.

Once completed, the projects will provide 23,408 sq m of gross floor area (gfa) for domestic use involving 621 units, and 79,100 sq m of gfa for non-domestic use.

The Buildings Department has also issued 14 occupation permits - three on Hong Kong Island, five in Kowloon, and six in the New Territories. In addition, it has announced the commencement of superstructure works for eight building projects.

The buildings certified for occupation comprise 53,684 sq m of gfa for domestic use, involving 409 units, and 65,153 sq m for non-domestic use.

Meanwhile, the government received 2,925 reports about unauthorised building works in May and issued 589 removal orders.
