Property sales drop 14.1% MoM in August
Total consideration for building unit transactions fell 14% to $44.5b.
Hong Kong recorded 5,768 sale and purchase agreements for all building units in August, down 14.1% from July and 10.7% from a year earlier, according to the Land Registry.
Total consideration for building unit transactions fell 14% month-on-month to $44.5b, marking a 6.8% decline from August 2025.
Of the total, 4,019 agreements were for residential units, down 9.9% from the previous month and 24% year-on-year.
Residential transaction value stood at $36.2b, falling 13.6% from July and 14.2% from a year earlier.
The Land Registry also recorded 1,749,770 land register searches during the month.
