Hong Kong’s Buildings Department approves 20 building plans in January

The department has also issued 20 occupation permits across different locations.

The Buildings Department approved 20 building plans in January with eight located on Hong Kong Island, seven in Kowloon, and five in the New Territories.

About 13 of the approved building plans were for apartment and apartment-commercial developments, whereas four were for commercial developments and three for community services development.

Six building projects have been given consent to begin work and will provide 5,849 sq m of gross floor area with 276 units for domestic use, whereas 60,361 sq m is for non-domestic use. 

The department has also received notification of the commencement of superstructure works for six building projects.

Buildings certified for occupation have a total of 223,092 sq m of gross floor area with 4,623 units for domestic use and 99,833 sq m for non-domestic use.

The department received 2,724 reports for unauthorised building works and issued 546 removal orders in the same month
