Hang Seng Bank tests ‘AI vs AI’ controls in HKMA GenAI Sandbox++
The bank has pilots for retail banking and commercial banking.
Hang Seng Bank said that two of its pilots have been selected for the GenAI Sandbox++ in Hong Kong.
The two pilots will test “AI vs AI” controls, using one artificial intelligence system to review, challenge, and validate another AI’s outputs.
For retail banking, Hang Seng Bank will test an AI judge solution that reviews gen AI chatbot responses for bank servicing enquiries before content is delivered to users.
For commercial banking, Hang Seng will pilot gen AI to support customer onboarding and due diligence. The gen AI will check business authenticity and legitimacy.
It is designed to detect early red flags and generate an auditable summary of findings for faster customer onboarding.
