Government earmarks $2.4b to revamp four historic buildings

It has opened proposals for revitalisation to organisations.

The Development Bureau has earmarked $2.4b to revitalise the fourth batch of historic buildings, secretary Michael Wong said in a press release. It has opened proposals for the revitalisation to non-profit organisations until 3 April 2020.

These buildings are the Tai Tam Tuk Raw Water Pumping Station Staff Quarters Compound, Homi Villa in Ting Kau, King Yin Lei in Wan Chai, and Fong Yuen Study Hall in Ma Wan.

Wong added that the government will only charge nominal rent and provide one-off grants in the first two years of operation.

It will also hold guided tours of the four historic buildings from 17-20 December to interested organisations.
