HSBC recognised as the Enterprise Software - Banking winner for Connecto

HSBC received the award for the Enterprise Software - Banking category at the Hong Kong Business Technology Excellence Awards 2026 for Connecto. This business-driven, in-house enterprise workflow orchestration tool showcases how an organisation at enterprise scale can simplify the ways it works, empower people to move faster, and build new technology to execute complex client transactions globally.

Connecto simplifies complexity, enabling agile, customer-oriented workflow optimisation through a One UI principle, replacing fragmented processes with a single, standardised digital operating model. This allows Connecto to build towards an AI-enabled future by defining clear standards that strengthen control, resilience, and scalability.

The Connecto platform serves as the centralised workflow orchestration layer, consolidating operational tools into a unified experience. Tasks are assigned automatically to the appropriate operator, accompanied by clear ownership and productivity metrics. This allows teams to reduce manual intervention whilst improving processing accuracy.

With Connecto’s advancements in global management information, leaders can use valuable data to make strategic decisions with greater transparency, identify bottlenecks, and propel organisation-wide excellence.

The modular enterprise platform design facilitates development at pace across new functions and markets, whilst maintaining minimal expenditure. This approach accelerated the platform into the common operating model across CIB, growing from a three-person team to a transformation community of over 200, supporting a wide range of value streams, including Credit and Capital Management, Client Servicing, Customer Due Diligence, Global Payment Solutions, Global Trade Solutions, and Market and Securities Services.

Connecto has created measurable impact on an enterprise scale. In one year, Connecto has standardised more than 20 million customer data points. Additionally, automated task assignment has halved task completion time from nearly 4 days to 1.5 days. These improvements simplify how work gets done whilst strengthening control, transparency, and scalability.

As generative AI continues to evolve, HSBC is expanding Connecto globally by advancing the platform’s AI, automation, and straight-through processing capabilities to drive further innovation and measurable outcomes.
