LandsD, PolyU to drive geospatial and smart city development

Both parties will establish a Joint Research Centre.

The Lands Department and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to drive geospatial innovation and smart city development.

The partners will establish a Joint Research Centre to facilitate knowledge exchange and collaboration amongst academia, industry, and the government.

The collaboration focuses on research and development in surveying and geospatial technologies, as well as enhancements to the satellite positioning infrastructure.

Other key initiatives include the application of artificial intelligence for geospatial solutions and professional training.

The MoU was signed by Deputy Director of Lands (Survey and Mapping) Chang Kwok-fai and PolyU Associate Vice President (Research and Innovation) Wang Zuankai.
