Hong Kong establishes aviation superhub advisory body

It is tasked with delivering strategic advice on aviation policy.

The Hong Kong Government has established the Advisory Committee on Development of International Aviation Superhub (ACDIAS) to guide the city’s next phase of aviation growth.

The new body replaces the former Aviation Development & Three-Runway System Advisory Committee and is tasked with delivering strategic advice on aviation policy, the development of the Airport City, and the integration of 3RS operations with surrounding infrastructure and civil aviation projects.

According to a government statement, ACDIAS will play a key role in reinforcing Hong Kong’s position as a global aviation hub and ensuring alignment between airport expansion and broader development goals.

The move follows the full commissioning of the 3RS in November last year.

Transport & Logistics Secretary Mable Chan highlighted the strategic importance of the move, noting that the National 14th Five-Year Plan supports Hong Kong’s role as an international aviation centre.
