Over half of SMEs use AI to speed up daily operations: Lalamove
About 73% of businesses report quicker daily operations and order processing.
Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Hong Kong are adopting digital tools to keep up with faster operational demands, with 51% relying on artificial intelligence (AI) to speed up daily workflows, Lalamove said.
About 73% of these businesses say operations are faster as a result.
SMEs view 2027 with optimism, Lalamove said, with 71% of businesses expecting logistics demand to be stable as business speeds up.
Of this figure, 80% expect logistics demand to remain active throughout the year, driven by customer orders and expectations for faster service, whilst 87% expect transport and logistics costs to stabilise.
Lalamove said that as business accelerates with AI, reinforcing speed and cost control should be prioritised to cater to delivery needs.
In the survey, the most frequently delivered items are documents, office files, food, groceries and luggage.
To manage these diverse goods efficiently, SMEs are seeking new services to meet logistics demands, such as multi-stop delivery, moving assistance and after-hours delivery.
