East Kowloon smart and green mass transit system gazetted

Construction of the 7 kilometre-long rapid transit line will commence once the scheme is authorised.

The scheme for the Smart & Green Mass Transit System in East Kowloon was published in the Government Gazette.

Construction of the proposed 7 kilometre-long rapid transit line will commence once the scheme is authorised, and will serve more than 300,000 residents in Kwun Tong.

The system comprises nine stations, passing through Choi Wan, Shun Lee, Shun On, Sau Mau Ping, Po Tat, Ma Yau Tong and Lam Tin North.

The estimated journey time from Po Tat to Yau Tong or Choi Hung will be ten to 15 minutes, about half the time using road-based transport.
