4 Chevron LPG stations fail to meet standards

It is now being probed.

According to a release, the Electrical & Mechanical Services Department has ordered Chevron to submit a report on why samples taken from four of its LPG stations failed to meet the Auto LPG Specification in respect of the copper corrosion test.

The company ceased the sale of auto LPG this morning at its stations on Pokfulam Road, Fung Shing Street, Clear Water Bay Road, and Sha Tau Kok Road.

The department said it is very concerned about the case and has asked for a report.

It said it will conduct tests at Chevron's gas terminal and LPG stations, and strengthen sampling from LPG terminals and filling stations of other suppliers.

The department asked LPG companies to ensure LPG supplies are not affected.
