HKRH’s subsidiary invests RMB18mln in China operations headquarters

Collaborates with World Gold Council to launch the “Only Gold” product series in China.

Hong Kong Resources Holdings Company Limited (“HKRH”) announced the official opening of the headquarters of its wholly owned subsidiary, 3D-GOLD Jewellery (“3D-GOLD”) in Shenzhen, China.

The opening ceremony was held on Wednesday with Mr. Liu Xueqiang, Secretary of Luohu District Committee, Shenzhen, Mr. Ni Zewang, Deputy District Head of Luohu District, Dr. Kennedy Wong, Chairman of HKRH and 3D-GOLD and Ms Kelly Chen, spokesperson of 3D-GOLD cutting the ribbon which marked the inauguration of 3D-GOLD’s operations headquarters in China. Mr. To Yu Hang and Ms. Rose Chan, leading actor and actress of the film “The Legend is Born – Ip Man”, also attended the ceremony to witness the important occasion, according to an HKRH report.

Opening of operations headquarters in China
Dr. Kennedy Wong, Chairman of HKRH and 3D-GOLD, said at the ceremony, “We are pleased to open 3D-GOLD’s operations headquarters in China which marks a new milestone in the Group’s development. Following the successful re-branding of our image last year, we will step up our efforts in expanding our jewellery retail network through a series of optimisation measures this year. Our focus in the next five years is to change from opening directly-operated stores to the franchise and joint venture operation models. While persistently accelerating the development and awareness of the 3D-GOLD brand in Mainland China, we also aim to forge mutually beneficial strategic partnerships.”

Located in the Liantang Pengji Industrial Zone, Luohu District, Shenzhen, the new operations headquarters in China occupies an area of 10,000 square meters with an investment cost of RMB18 million. The new headquarters houses a comprehensive network and data and enquiry management system which ensures real-time communication among sales points in China, Hong Kong and Macau and facilitates flexible product and market deployment. Moreover, it also boasts spacious exhibition areas attractively designed to showcase a wide range of jewellery series, providing a one-stop opportunity for franchisees to explore 3D-GOLD’s shop image and products as well as convenience in choosing the products directly according to the market needs of the stores in different regions.

To implement its brand promotion and capture the market opportunities in the Greater China region, 3D-GOLD not only steadily expands its existing retail network along with its sales network of franchisees, but also establishes strategic partnerships with large department chain stores and commercial property management operators to set up its regional and nationwide retail network.

To mark the opening of the Shenzhen International Jewellery Fair, 3D-GOLD and World Gold Council launched a new product series, “2010 Only Gold Love Series”. Under this collaboration, 3D-GOLD will become the official retailer of “Only Gold” in China, and also the only jewellery brand to distribute the “2010 Only Gold Love Series” in its stores in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau. This series adopts various themes, including Love Nest, Love Pea  and Happiness series. The design concept perfectly complements 3D-GOLD’s philosophy to “Seek Perfection and Secure True Happiness”. The new product series is expected to promote the connotation of the brand to more consumers, boosting the brand awareness further.

Dr. Wong added, “We are pleased to partner with World Gold Council to promote ‘Only Gold’. During the second half of the year, we will launch the ‘2010 Only Gold Love Series’ in our stores in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau based on the concept of ‘Happiness’. We have the confidence that our brand value ‘Seek Perfection and Secure True Happiness’ communicated via our strong sales network will strike a chord in consumers’ hearts.”

“Only Gold” is the first project created by the World Gold Council to develop in the fine gold market in 2007. This pure gold series is aimed to promote elegant creations displaying mid-range to high-end design and craftsmanship to show the true affection.
