Gov’t to launch award system to combat tenancy abuse
The Housing Authority will offer a $3,000 cash reward to informants.
The government will launch the Report Public Housing Abuse Award starting 15 January to combat tenancy abuse in public housing estates.
The Housing Authority (HA) said it will present a certificate of appreciation and offer a $3,000 cash reward to people who provide information that leads authorities to successfully issue a Notice-to-Quit (NTQ) to households with tenancy abuse.
Any person aged 16 or above who can give concrete information may join the award. Whilst informants’ identities are strictly confidential, investigation details will not be disclosed to the informants.
HA further explained that participants must provide their real names on the reports and indicate their intention to join. The participants and their reports will be assessed first to verify the accuracy of the data provided.
