Security law annotations updated

Covers new cases up to January 31 this year.

The annotations of the security law have been updated to cover judgements of cases related to national security up to 31 January 2025.

Two important cases’ judgement in March by the Court of Final Appeal as well as relevant provisions in Safeguarding National Security Ordinance (6 of 2024), Safeguarding National Security Regulation, and the Safeguarding National Security Order were also included.

Since the National Security Law implemented in 2020, all judicial decisions are open to public transparently, said the department.

“The annotations provide a simple and practical tool to assist the public in comprehending national security laws and cases,” said Paul Lam, the secretary for Justice.
