Trade Marks Registry finds inaccurate data

Internal audits of its register revealed inaccuracies blamed on human error.

A report by the Information Services Department said, “The Trade Marks Registry will correct some inaccurate data found during internal audits of its register and expresses its regrets to parties who may be affected.”

The inaccuracies, according to the report, relate to the filing date of trade mark applications, priority claim and the description of certain marks on the register. “Human error in the data entry and validation process is to blame,” said the report.
