Registered non-HK companies rise 2.02% YoY

There are 14,826 non-Hong Kong companies registered in the region by the end of 2023.

The number of local companies registered in Hong Kong reached 1,430,758 in 2023, as the region welcomed 132,246 newly registered businesses.

In 2023, Hong Kong also saw 960 non-Hong Kong companies registering a newly established place of business in the region under the Compliance Ordinance in 2023.

The total number of registered non-Hong Kong companies hit 14,826 by the end of 2023, up 2.02% YoY.

Meanwhile, 429 licences under the Anti-Money Laundering & Counter-Terrorist Financing Ordinance were issued, tallying the number of licensees by the end of 2023 to 6,945.

The charges paid for company property registration hit 12,368, whilst payment notifications and releases reached 17,648. 

Meanwhile, the government saw 188 limited partnership funds registrations in 2023.
