
Hong Kong rises to ninth in global cities ranking
It moved one rank higher.
Hong Kong ranked ninth amongst the most internationally connected and influential cities in the world, rising from 10th place last year, based on Kearney’s 2024 Global Cities Index (GCI).
In Asia, Tokyo and Singapore led the list, placing fourth and fifth place globally, respectively.
Beijing fell to sixth place, whilst Shanghai jumped to eighth place from 13th spot last year.
The GCI measures the connectivity of cities across five dimensions including business activity, human capital, information exchange, cultural experience, and political engagement.
