Asia Hotel Art Fair Hong Kong unveils ticket sale

The event will be on 22-24 February.

According to a release, tickets are now on sale for the fourth Hong Kong, Asia Hotel Art Fair (AHAF Hong Kong 2013), taking place at luxury hotel partner, Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong, from 22-24 February 2013. Tickets are priced at HK$100 for adults and are available through www.hkticketing.com.

AHAF Hong Kong 2013 will play host to over 60 premium galleries from around the world with over 89 percent of exhibitors from the Asia region, showcasing over 3,000 works by established and emerging contemporary artists.

The unconventional and innovative exhibition concept transforms three luxurious floors of the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong into intimate gallery spaces, allowing collectors and art lovers to appreciate the work in an uninhibited setting, whilst providing participating galleries with a unique opportunity to engage with potential buyers.

Remaining very much an Asian focused fair, AHAF Hong Kong 2013 is dedicated to promoting cultural exchange and community engagement through regional gallery cooperation and initiatives.

The diverse program on offer is catered for both exhibiting galleries and the wider public. VIP collectors, novice investors and art lovers, will have access to activities including artist talks, tours and lectures by industry experts.

Mr. Hwang Dal-seung, Chairman of Asia Hotel Art Fair, commented, “It brings us great pleasure to bring the fourth edition of AHAF Hong Kong to the city's thriving art scene, promoting leading galleries and emerging regional artists to such a knowledgeable and receptive audience.”

Notable participating galleries include Gallery EXIT and Cais Gallery from Hong Kong, Keumsan Gallery and Wellside Gallery from Seoul, Der-Horng Art Gallery from Taiwan, Nancy’s Gallery from Shanghai and Tanya Baxter Contemporary from London.

A selection of Korea’s most prominent young artists will be on show including revolutionary photographer, artist Bae Chan-hyo, who will present his latest work of self-portraits in the series, Punishment, together with his earlier collection, Fairy Tales and Existing in Costume.

In each of the series he addresses his identity as an Asian man in Western society, questioning ideologies and prejudices whilst exploring cultural boundaries.

AHAF Hong Kong 2013 will also feature works by many internationally renowned household names and emerging Asian artists including Damien Hirst, Egon Schiele, Kusama Yayoi, Lee Ufan, and Paik Nam-june.
