Hong Kong launches GoGlobal platform for Mainland firms
New website and services hub aim to support overseas expansion.
Hong Kong has launched a GoGlobal Task Force thematic website and a cross-sector professional services platform to support Mainland enterprises expanding overseas through the city.
Invest Hong Kong said the website offers one-stop information and support for companies seeking to use Hong Kong’s international advantages to plan and execute their global expansion strategies.
The site consolidates resources, including the GoGlobal Task Force’s member list and support services, promotional events in Hong Kong and the Mainland, success stories, practical resources, and the first phase of a professional services platform launched on the same day by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
The platform brings together Hong Kong service providers across eight sectors: finance, legal, accounting, branding and marketing, logistics, communication technology, infrastructure and real estate, and testing and certification. The government said it will match Mainland enterprises with suitable providers and offer one-stop professional support for overseas expansion.
Commerce and Economic Development Secretary Algernon Yau said the initiative is designed as a cross-bureau, cross-departmental, and cross-organisation platform for Mainland firms going global, whilst also creating more direct investment, jobs, and demand for professional services in Hong Kong.
The Department of Justice said it has already published the first edition of a bilingual collection of success stories on Hong Kong professional services supporting Mainland enterprises going global, and will also prepare a classified list of Hong Kong legal service providers for the new website.
